Fwd: Re: [RC] LQ or camper? - Mary Sutliff

Wanted to send this privately but email came back.

The camper we had before this one was an old 70's model. It did not
have a bathroom or a gray/black water tank. The water from the sink
went out on the ground or into a bucket. We put a porta potty in the
horse trailer once we got to camp. I am really glad to have a bathroom
in this new camper! I would not want to be without it. We don't use
the shower much because of the limited water capacity of the camper. If
we are somewhere with community restrooms we use those and I often
dispose of the grey water from the sink by dumping it outside (not
letting it go down the drain into the grey water tank). Having that
toliet inside the camper is wonderful. We have stretched our time
camping without having to refill the water tank or finding a dump
station to as long as 6 days. We don't use the camper water for the
horses. There is a 30 gallon tank in our horse trailer but mostly we
use local water for the horses. To me the camper is a real luxury as we
tent camped for years and still do when we pack our horses into the
mountains for a week at a time. The frig, stove, oven, furnace and a
comfortable bed also make the camper really nice to have. Our present
camper in a "light" model. Be sure to check camper weight as they vary
a lot. We have a 1 ton Dodge Dually and pull a 4 horse steel trailer
and have never had any problems with this setup.
Have fun on your camper search.
