RE: [RC] giving injections and trouble - Susan E. Garlinghouse, D.V.M.

people liked. Now, I'm a nurse, so I (sort of) know how to give a
shot...but 6 out of 6 developed big old lumps that took over a week to
resolve. Several of the horses struck out with their front feet as I
stuck them as well....

So we're back to the neck...

You're probably getting big old lumps in the neck muscles as well...except
there's more tension in the muscles, plus not as much gravity, thus it's
less apparent. Often, the downward hanging lump on the pecs will evolve to
some loose skin, all of which resolves with time, no harm. Still my first
choice, but neck is a second choice over the butt.
