I once had a horse that would lay down if he was
put into the left side of a two horse straight load. He would not lay
down in the right side. I think I know what happened and why he did
this ( a forced sudden lane change and he was loaded on the left and
was frightened, anyway that is why I think he started to lay down) and ever
since then, he would lay down when loaded on that side...so, try loading him on
the other side and see if his behavior is different.
