Dear Marta,
We have a mare that sounds very much like yours. She just tested positive for
Polysaccride Storage Myopathy. I am quite sure that is not spelled right, but
if you google"Dr. Beth Valentine" you can read all about it.

Our Mare had years of vague lamenesses, lots of chiro work and the last couple
of years it was hind end stiffness, which we just put off as getting old and
arthritic. The main person who kept saying "something is not right in the back
end here" was our horse shoer. He was saying this years before any other
problems made themselves known. Anyway, you can change your mares diet very
easily and see if it helps. Good Luck!
Carol
