[RC] Tips for using the AERC Webpages and new features - Michael Maul

Starting from this post - there will be an occasional tip on how to use the AERC web pages to get the most out of the information available there. Plus any new features at the site

http://www.aerc.org/

New features:

From the Education Committee:
Under the Education Menu - for Ride Managers -

RIDER CLINICS . . . YOU CAN DO IT; WE CAN HELP!

a complete list of all the material you need all the way to a sample Advertising Flyer

Tip: Need to find something in past BoD minutes or just curious how our present organization came to be?

All the minutes from 1975 to the present are under the Membership menu -> Convention Meetings and Minutes -> Previous Years Minutes at

http://www.aerc.org/M_C_MinutesArchived.asp

Or you can search the minutes at the site Search page linked from the top left of the home page

http://www.aerc.org/Search.asp

Entering the words minutes 1989 will bring up every document that we have on the site with those 2 words in them which is 16 documents. You scan thru the list looking for the document that you want. Adding a word you know will be in all the minutes like "president" brings this down to 7 documents.

This might include the 1987 minutes where the 1989 convention is discussed as well as the 1989 minutes.

Or if you want to know about a protest involving the Scottsdale 50 ride - you would enter the words scottsdale protest and two documents would be found - one of which is the 1980 minutes with the results of the protest.

If anyone using our site has useful tips of their own - send them to me and I'll include them in the next issue.

Mike
