I have seen more cases where a horse has been hit and
injured by flying debris in high winds (tornado or otherwise) than to have the
shelter he is in blown away, and I personally know four people who have had
horses killed by lightening, so I generally put them in when there is a
tornado warning or severe storm warning (not watches).
