Loved that book when I was a kid.  My family had bought an Arabian stallion and we were just getting into endurance then.   I can still recite my favorite part of the book when the foal was born:
 
"My name is Agba, ba means father.  I will be a father to you Sham.  And when you are grown, I will ride you before the multitudes, and they will bow before you.  And you will be King of the Wind, I promise it."

Ok book enthusiasts, let's see how much you remember of this old
favorite!! There is a website, http://www.mce.k12tn.net/reading12/king_of_the_wind.htm, that
has a trivia question section for the book chapter by chapter.
Not too involved, but I started remembering sections of the story
as I looked at the questions (they are mult choice). Also has an
'activities' section that has a few links to things mentioned in
the book (like the fast of Ramadan, various horse races referred
to) as well as some suggestions for horse trivia to research
online. This section looks like it is more for kids (like me
LOL) to do on a rainy day to keep you occupied. But fun to see
how much of the book you actually remember!

the Wind guy? I'M the important one; I am THE GRAND SULTAN OF MY
HORSE TRAILER......)
