Re: [RC] OMG - Zephyr Arabians

Subject: [RC] OMG

This is just wrong! I was surfing the Dover catalog
online, the bargain section of course... they have
THONG riding underwear on sale. OMG, I don't even
want to think about 25 or 50 miles in a thong....
egad... clearly not for endurance riders....

Hate to break this to you, Chris, but some people
prefer thongs. :) To some people they are vastly more
comfortable than "standard" women's underwear. In
fact, I haven't worn "standard" (be they bikini or
granny panties or anything inbetween) underwear in
probably 18 years or more. I find them horribly
uncomfortable. Oh, wait... I did buy some padded
granny-type underwear that were supposedly made for
riding, but then I just felt like I was wearing a
diaper -- plus all the other features I don't like
about regular underwear.

So, to those who care: yes, I've ridden 50 miles in a
thong. Although, to be honest, my prefered choice for
that distance is more like men's boxer breifs or bike
shorts. But, it's tough to find bike shorts without
seams in the wrong places & men's boxer breifs have
extra fabric in places we women don't need it. I've
got some very expensive women's boxer breifs (I think
I found them on eBay of all places), and they've been
the best choice for me for 50 miles. Less than 50
miles I'm still in a thong. :)
