Re: Re: [RC] [RC] SMB Elite sport boots - Carol Suggs
We have used these boots when starting young horses
and found them to be beneficial as we have never had any ligament or tendon
problems and I attribute that to the use of the boots. I will use the
boots when we are at a cattle competition (reining, sorting that sort of thing)
but never when we trail ride. When you are doing arena work you kinda
expect sand and dirt to get in there a little but you normally are only doing
arena work for a short time , take the boots off and shake them
off.
I worry about folks using these boots on the trail
and getting a build up of sand/dirt, excess sweat in there, not to mention
these boots are a natural attractant to any and all stickers... water
crossings with these boots on I just think would be uncomfortable to the horse
to wear a soggy, sandy sport boot...
I barrel race also, and alot of the barrel racers and rodeo event
folks use them on their horses. There is a heat build up and it is
recommended to take them off every 4 hours or so (think that is right).
----- From: Dawn Simas I
keep reading in magazines about the Professionals Choice SMB Elite boots. THey
are supposed to "absorb and dissipate more than 26% of the negative energy
from hoof concussion." ***Hmmmm being the skeptic that I am, I would what to
know how they tested this....
