[RC] Horse Treats - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

Not sure with everyone else, but Shaba gets ONE (maximum TWO if
he has been very good) fruit pies at the end of his ride. Never
bothers him a bit. Has also been known to eat the bread off of
a turkey sandwich when my back is turned (luckily missed the
turkey, that crazy child). He really likes apple fruit pies, so
maybe it is his variation of eating apple sauce that a lot of
other folks use. However, does not stop there, and will attempt
any kind of food that his mom has in front of her, so I try to take things to
the ride that are both horse and people friendly. From time to time he also
gets oatmeal cookies or
peanut butter sandwiches. These are only treat-size portions,
however; his MAIN food is grass hay, beet pulp, some rice bran,
a little corn oil, and his vitamins and joint supplements. Kind
of like giving a kid a lollipop, but only after he has had a
'good' meal.
Lauretta and Shaba (you can take away the rice bran, but NOBODY
better come between me and a Hostess Fruit Pie.....unless you are
bringing me a big raisin cookie...............)
usually go to the rides alone, so the night I get there I share
my dinner with him and we eat together.
