[RC] After Ride Leg Care - Ridecamp Guest

Please Reply to: Lauretta tikitiki69@xxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
==========================================

As I have moved up to doing 50's (and soon 100's), I am becoming
more concerned with the after-ride leg care for my horse. He has
never had any swelling in his legs at all and no heat or lameness
problems, and I want to make sure as his miles increase it stays
that way. I have a clay poultice that a friend gave me to try
for after rides; you put it on the legs then wrap the legs and
leave it on for about 24 hours. Should I ice the legs at all
before putting it on? or just rinse any dirt off of his legs and
apply the clay only? Anyone out there that uses this treatment?
Thanks, Lauretta and Shaba (I don't care about all this ice and
leg stuff; I just need my after-ride Hostess Fruit Pie; just keep
it SIMPLE Mom!!!)
