Title: Colored saddle pad

I had a saddle pad with color  bleed dye onto my gray gelding and turn him pink.  The pink stain didn’t wash off of him even with color brightener shampoos.  He looked like a “My Pretty Pony” the whole ride season.  No amount of washing/rinsing the pad helped either.  Maybe having a Dixie Midnight under it would have helped but I didn’t know about them at the time.  I am pretty sure a post production dye job is going to bleed onto your horse and your gear when it gets wet. 

If you really want a purple pad maybe you should consider switching to a pad with a colored canvas type top and a natural bottom with built in inserts like an equipedic or a Skito.  They come in colors … if they don’t have purple maybe you could special order one.
