RE: [RC] [RC] Magic - terry banister

My horse had that elusive "stiff/off" in back legs, we thought he might have hock or feet problems, and my vet (who also does accupuncture) went over him and concluded he had TMJ! She said he didn't need a chiropracter - he needed dental work. His jaw was off and the resulting tension was transferring down his poll and topline, back and legs. She did mechanical dental work and followed it up with one accupuncture treatment, and he has been fine since. (?!)

Jim,
I have had a similar situation with my gelding. He has occassionally dragged his hind feet and/or been "off" behind. When I have had the vet look at him he has been fine. I have had him adjusted by a chiropractor. I think his atlas goes out of alignment. I know check his head motion, tip his head down to his chest and to each side to be sure he is in alignment. It is very difficult to figure out, what is going on, when it is so transient.
