[RC] Horse that travels with his head unnaturally high - Dyane Smith

Has anyone had a horse that, from time to time, throws his head up when trotting?  This happens whether or not he carries a rider.  And looks very much as if he is trying to get weight off his front feet.  I've had him evaluated by U.C. Davis and by a chiropractor.  No evidence of back pain or pain in his front feet, but it's a dramatically odd way of traveling...especially on his own time in pasture.
