Maybe it's a left brain/right brain thing like this...?
 
While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor
and make clockwise circles. Now, while doing this, draw the
number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will
change direction and there's nothing you can do about it.

 I don't necessarily agree, however, it means a person is "asymetrical" if they feel awkward  mounting on the right. I think the body just needs a little time and practice to get used to this new "picture."
