RE: [RC] FEI - commodity vs. longevity - any prizes for longevity? - heidi

I know I'm answering an old message, but I have to wonder, is anyone
offering prizes for oldest horse to complete the race? Longest career?

I know of several individual rides who have offered awards to the oldest
horse competing, and PNER offers a year-end award called the Veteran Horse
award--in order to nominate for it, the minimum qualifications are 2500
career miles and the past three consecutive years in competition. The
emphasis for choosing the recipient is on high mileage and consistent
performance on rides 75-100 miles in length. PNER also gives an award to
ALL horses with 10 or more CONSECUTIVE completions in any given year.
