[RC] knee pain - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

Well, as everyone else has been trading war-wound stories, I thought I would
chime in. Went riding on a loop from Auburn to Cool yesterday, and was going
along at a pretty good clip, when Shaba decided to teleport sideways to get
around a mudhole (why, I don't know, it isn't as if he has had PLENTY of
experience going through them recently). This unfortunately put my knee
straight into the path of the end of a manzanita branch about 3 inches in
diameter. The manzanita won. I managed to stay on, but was seeing a pretty
white light for about 5 minutes, and now have a nice baseball directly on the
side of my knee. I think if it had hit my knee head-on instead of the side,
there would now be no knee. But I am happy to report that I am in good spirits
and am ready for my first 50 coming up next Sat. After reading the injury list
presented by various members of RC these last few postings, I have absolutely
no room to whine. After all, I am still walking, right? And I KNOW I can
still ride <grin>. The sun was out and the wild flowers have started blooming.
And next weekend promises good weather as well (fingers crossed). Who could
ask for more? Hope everyone else is well...just watch out for those man-eating
bushes.  Happy Trails!! Lauretta
