After living in earthquake country, we started storing water in case of
emergency. Here are a couple web site, that give information on how to treat
water with either iodine or bleach for storage. Of course, the horses may or
may not reject the flavor if not used to drinking such water. These
suggestions are for long term storage. I just try to drain my tanks in the
trailer if I am not going to use them for awhile, to prevent algae.
