Re: [RC] algae in camping water drum - Kristen A Fisher

Good question - the first thing my gelding ate off his first loop last weekend was the floating algae in the water trough. I think he's been reading about the benefits of algae supplements.

Is there a problem with horses drinking algae? . . serious question because
many people eat green algae and I always figured that it was just a bit more
green for my horse as long as it was palatable. . . kim

anyone have any suggestions as to how to keep algae out of 55 gallon drum
used for camping and drinking water for horses? We haul this drum in the
back of our truck but now have to replace it because of algae.
