Re: [RC] moving up from CT to LD - Truman Prevatt

People do what they want to do, they ride what they want to ride - mostly out of personal choice independent of what anyone thinks. The comment was addressing the issue that the AERC database is not all that accurate - especially it seems for LD's prior to 1996. So don't put much stock on any conclusions you draw from the "early days" by looking at the numbers on the database.

The second issue is the sport has undergone a lot of changes since the early days. Hell, it undergone a lot of changes since 1995. Just because "daddy didn't do it thisaway..........." ;-) .

I sure hate to see another round of "LD bashing," it's too soon, it's out of cycle, and it's all been said before - a hundred times.

Hummm, I dunno Truman, I bet in the case of Dave Rabe, who only has 37 LD
miles (total) listed in his over 31 THOUSAND miles of endurance, that is
probably a pretty fair statement in the case of that high mileage rider.
Talk to him, and he is one who likes to start them with a 50, and seems to
prefer those multi-days. He took one of my horses on 3 50's within 3 weeks
of the 5 week long XP2004 this last summer. Those were his first endurance
rides. He had done one NATRC ride before that.
