[RC] Horse or should I say ownry MI pony nicknames - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Vicki Loren VLH327 at aol dot com or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== In the mid 80's, I rode a small grey pony named Mittie. She was a tough ownry thing. Most horses had to canter to keep up with her extended trot. She would go for miles and miles. I don't remember how many Competitive and Endurance miles we had together. Well, she seemed to be a sweet little pony until I would get on her. She would go in circles and try to bite. Once I was on she was fine until.... She would get behind other horses. Behind other horses she probably did twice the mileage of everyone else. I had to constantly make her do circles to keep her off the tails of others. Since I was only 9, I couldn't say what one of my sponsors would say to her appy, "Lacy You B%^&6h!" Instead, I had to go with Dang-it-all-Mittie! Since she was a grade, it was easy to change her name on the Great Lakes records! If I wasn't pulling her in circles, she was dumping me. I did many belly dives off her. Once, we were at a no longer existing ride at Yankee Spings in MI. We were on the 50 and cantering on a nice sandy rode. Well,Dang-it-all-Mittie was too smart for me. She remembered where the vet check was the previous year adn decided to turn leaving me to fly through the air. Luckily, I actually listened to my mom and wore my helmet. Dang-it-all Mittie was by far one of the toughest competitors I have ever had the pleasure of riding.
