[RC] Feet in water trough - Sonshine575

My mare puts her front feet in her plastic 100+ gallon water trough and gets the water muddy. Then she doesn't want to drink it. Someone told me to scare her away, I should put mouse traps in the bottom. What do you think? Have any other ideas?
