[RC] Amenities at rides - Deanna German

On the AERC members list, the subject of what riders like to see at rides
was recently touched on.

What amenities do you like to see?

Have to say, being fed by ride management is not high on my list of
priorities; it doesn't influence my decisions one bit. I go to see some
different trail and meet some fantastic people. In some of these places,
putting a meal on would be a far larger challenge than marking trail, and
I'll take good trail markings, thank you very much.

Being a camper without refrigeration, I've yet to figure out a way to
contribute to a potluck and not put people in danger! Any ideas?? (There
always seem to be enough watermelons and they aren't always in season
anyway.)

Other amenities that do influence my decisions:
- somewhere to potty
- horse water! (I can't haul very much of my own)

Something I like, but can make do if not allowed or if it's just not
available:
- a place to picket my horse.

Other than that, I'm pretty much happy that there are rides to attend!

Anyone else?

Deanna
