[RC] Embarrassing moments in horse names - B. L. Kossowan

...Of course, when you post your horse's name on a Web site, there is always
the possbility of tickling the funny bone (pun intended :P) of someone who
understands another language. When Wiid was born, I was going to name him
Vandal, but he grew so fast... When it came time to do his papers, I wanted
to combine his mother's name, Suzzanne, with my sweetie's last name, Minion,
and came up with Minnazze Wiid. A couple of years later, I got a short and
succint email from some guy in Italy: "Viva la Minnazze!" Not knowing what
he was talking about, I googled the word and got five hits, all in Italian,
all of great big wimmin with great big, bare butts. Now, Wiid does have a
pretty substantial butt for an Ay-rab, but he sure ain't no woman. These
days, his name is the butt of a more than a few jokes among those who are
privvy to the gaffe. Sigh.
