Ridecamp History Lesson...

Once upon a time a group of endurance riders used to lurk in a Newsgroup space 
called Rec.Equestrian. 

These endurance riders included Truman, myself, Karen Sullivan (Sullys Maze), 
Linda Merims .... and other folks too.

On January 4th 1994, one of the endurance riders posted a message that is 
summarized in the Google search engine like this:

I am considering assembling a Home Page for AERC. It would include
information on the organization (directors, committees, etc.), ride
listings, latest ride results and points standings - any information
that AERC normally distributes. In addition it can host an endurance
newsgroup.
What I need to know at this time is how many endurance people are
actually wired, and would either be interested in or benefit from
this resource.
Please respond one way or the other - you can email me directly (I 
am step@xxxxxxx), or a posting to rec.equestrian would do. Once I
get an idea of how many would currently or potentially use this
