[RC] Correction on Non-member effect oin points - Michael Maul

In an earlier post - I said:"Non-members do not get any points and have no weight division. I don't see how they can affect AERC member points."

That's only partly true.

In the case of weight divisions - the non-member has no effect at all on the points. The non-member is weight division N or none so there is no effect.

On the other hand - it does affect overall placings and points.

The top ten placing of a non-member takes the points away from an AERC member. As an example look at the results of the 2003 Tevis where non-member Peter Toft came in 4th. He received no points for overall or division but the next rider who was an AERC member received the points for 5th placing.

You cam also see there was no effect for the weight divisions in this ride.

Mike
