Richard Sacks wrote about the Abernathy boys... it intrigued me, I did 
a little googling and wound up on the LongRidersGuild pages.  After 
some wandering around there, I found this really cool journal by a guy 
who started in N.Carolina with a mule back in March 2004.  Now he's in 
New Mexico and has added a pack horse.

It's too cold for me to ride, so I'm having a blast reading about this 
"multi-day".
