[RC] Stolen/Missing Items from Trailering Out - Aaron Turnage

Someone mentioned having their light hook-up to their trailer stolen while out riding from a "public" area.  For a while in central CA, someone was removing the pins that hold your hitch to the frame of your truck.  This happened to some of my dad's employees while pulling a trencher trailer.  The trailer "appears" to be hooked-up, lights, safety chains, etc but you have to bend down and check to make sure that PIN is in place.  The trencher actually held in place long enough it wasn't until they were on the freeway that it wiggled itself loose.  Thankfully the chains held and they were able to get the truck and trailer stopped with minimal damage.

So ALWAYS check your entire hitch set-up before leaving anywhere when you have been away from your rig.  It only takes a second for someone to pull that and is not easily noticed with a quick glance.
