RE: [RC] Fitness - Alison FarrinIt IS simplistic. But so is most of life. There are two kinds of people in this world. Those that DO what they want to accomplish and those that DREAM about what they want to accomplish. It is your choice. Just like Karen said, if you want it badly enough, you will make it happen. A lot of us started with old trucks and rickety trailers whose only strong point was the floor! We didn't go to a lot of rides, just as many as we could afford. My husband tells me I should get a housekeeper. My reply is that I would rather spend the $100 on a ride every month and clean my own house. Those are my extra budget dollars and that's where I spend them. Allmost everyone has discretionary dollars to spend and they choose where those dollars go. I watch my employees blow $60 a week on lunches and top it off with 2-3 trips to Starbucks. I have a candy bar for lunch that I buy wholesale at Costco and it takes a long time to drink $7 worth of coffee when it comes in a 3lb can! That's $75 a week that I can use for horsey things. There was a time when my take home pay sometimes had money left for food after I paid the rent and the utilities. But I didn't stay there. Within 2 years I had enough disposable income to buy and board my first horse. It took a goal and the willpower to make it happen. Sure there are people out there who just can't. If you are a paraplegic, I'll cut you some slack. (But not much. Look what Christopher Reeve accomplished - he's a perfect example of NOT getting in your own way.) If not, the only person standing in the way of doing what you dream is YOU. Alison A. It is not easy, and IMO, the best way to succeed at it is to want to do it, to need to do it -- those of us that are truly addicted can tell you that it really is just about wanting something bad enough to make it happen. Hm. That seems rather simplistic. There is the reality of wanting, trying, and still not having the ability. I don't mean to be argumentative, but it just sort of rubs me the wrong way ... as if perhaps a person just isn't wishing hard enough because they aren't able to pull it off. Maybe they could live in their car to be able to afford horses and entry fees? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
