[RC] What to look for in a possible Endurance horse - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

Hi!
I have been interested in endurance riding fo a while now but know hardly
anything about it. I own a very lazy Quarter Horse gelding that would not make
a good endurance horse since he hates to move. :) I recently bought a 11 yr
old Arabian mare and her 6 month old filly. The mare has a small problem with
one of her hind feet and is fine for light riding but would not be suitable for
endurance. I am thinking of riding the filly in endurance when she matures.
What I am wondering is if there are any particular things that an endurance
horse needs to have. Conformation, or personality wise? My filly is extremely
social and friendly and she LOVES to move. She has good feet and legs and she
has a beautiful trot. She comes from some very good bloodlines (I don't know
if there are any endurance horses in there or not). I guess I am just
wondering if any horse can be used for endurance riding or if she needs to have
certain qualities.

Thanks,
Eliya
