[RC] Tie Ups - rides2far@xxxxxxxx

1/2 mile and turned up a sandy wash again at about a 6 mile an hour
pace

We had a horse tie up at a walk when we did our walking warm-up uphill once.
I've started treating uphill like trotting. If my trail starts out uphill I
ride around a flat area for 15 min. before heading up the trail...even on
training rides. That wouldn't apply much to you since you were past the warm-up
stage though.

Another thing, same horse stiffened up the first time after normal "off day"
rations, a 5 hr. haul to a ride, a 15 min.warm-up then fast trotting for 15
min. Since then I give half the normal morning feed before hauling...but then
you got there days early. Sooo...sounds to me like you got done dirty. You did
everything right and had an incident. I'd bet money there was somebody running
like a maniac ahead of you that didn't cut feed and didn't bother to do a
proper warm-up that morning. Sometimes life's not fair.
