AND feed them cookies!!!! I learned that a while ago that you should pamper your farrier. Unfortunately for me, I pampered and still got an underrun heel. The farrier I was using didn't realize he was doing that until I told him my CTR horse would come up looking a bit lame that you saw while hand trotting him out for the vet.  The farrier actually charged me more money to fix the problem he created. I had him do that and then I shopped around for another farrier and this one is wonderful. It's taken almost a year but my horse is almost back to normal.  So pamper the one you know is good and is a true horse lover. My last farrier would call my wonderful gelding (he stood great for him) some horrible names while shoeing that was totally uncalled for. No more cookies for you!!
