Re: [RC] Fit mare - heidiI finally seem to have a horse with energy and stamina. I rode open this past w/e at a NATRC ride. I only ride safety, which I learned can be a curse and a blessing. I ride novice safety all the time, and my mare seems to have a great brain for that, but the added speed and excitement of the open pace was a little much for her. She bucked and longed and just generally "played" all w/e. A friend of mine laughed a bit and said I would adjust to having such a fit horse. I told her I didn't want to adjust. I wanted the mare to "get over it" She never did anything malicious, but man, was she ever feisty. What to do to get this new behavior under control?
