I have to admit that I don't always tell people where I am going when I 
go out alone, but I'm also much more conservative when I ride alone. I 
hadn't thought about it but virtually every time I've hurt myself on a 
horse it has been while I was with other riders, as well.  Alone, I pay 
much more attention to my horse, so I think I'm actually riding better.
