[RC] Sacro-iliac joint subluxation - k s swigart

Susan Milam said:

My question to those who might know: Do these things
usually get better and finally stabilize, or will I always have
a horse who is hurting and doesn't enjoy his work after
such an injury?

They CAN get better; although not always with the ability to return to
"full work" (this injury being most common in hunters/jumpers full work
may be defined as the ability to go back to jumping big fences :)).

However, the treatment of choice is extended total stall rest. It is
unlikely to get better if you continue to ride the horse before it is
healed. A few months back The Horse magazine had an article about just
this injury
