==========================================

 Just finished reporting the Region III Amateur Shooting Dog Championship in
Virginia;about 164 miles in 5 days.Used a big young TWH every morning and 17
y.o.MFT Chico the Rebel each afternoon,so about 82 miles for each horse. Lots
of very heavy mud,fast walking, and lots of cantering,lots of standing
around,lots of get-there-quick covering a dog on point in rough areas,for an
average of six miles each hour's brace of dogs. The horses had a ball,and so
did I. Gave 'em plenty of food,water ,and 26cc of Lyte-Now each day.They did
not seem at all worn down at the end of the trial.The big young TWH had a
"lifting" way of going in the areas of heavy mud that was terrific,but an
extreme rocking canter that I had a hard time sitting.Chico is the opposite,not
as strong on the front end,but a flat level canter.A great time for all three
of us.
