My 28 year old gelding has a splint bone injury.  He was conditioned every year until just a few years ago and then he would always go lame a day before the ride. I was hoping he could ride the 100 one more time.  Is there any supports that I can use?  He is too old for surgery.

Maybe he was trying to tell you something long before the splint bone injury....going lame before a ride is a definite hint (especially when it happens multiple times). Why can't he just retire?  No support/wrap/boot on earth will make an unsound horse sound.  Let the poor guy retire, sounds like he's earned it!
