[RC] Starting a Older MARE What's old? - Steve Elliot \(Equine Performance\)

well my first horse was 18 only had trail experience and a small black
saddlebred /arab

racked up the aerc miles and then she just got better top tenned at
21 years of old 7th place with some fast horses at camp far west ride,
she and I went on then I had a back up 12 year old horse, due to I felt
I was too heavy and I needed a taller horse. at 25 years of age to 27
my mare was with younger kids doing 50's and 25's. she's retired now at
31 years of age and will probuly be in the day of the horse parade.

To many good older horse's out there jackie bumgarner told me once
that its where the odometer starts, I've seen what the defference
younger horses started in endurance too soon leg problems, also if you
go fast they last three years or less any way. AGE WHATS OLD?
