RE: [RC] electrocution from tank heater - LaBrake, Denise A

My Gosh, Patti is in our prayers. This is terrible.

I have a just put my heater coil into my 100 gallon tub. Haven't ran the
wire this year yet...only takes a minute.
Been using it for four years now.

We use the same wire that we would put under ground, the heavy gauge beige
stuff.
At the end of it where the tank plugs directly in, we installed at box that
contains two
grounded plugs in spaces (3 prong). Is this what you are all referring to as
GFI??
Actually all we need to do to complete is bury it.

However, the part I'm concerned with it. We have this wire plugged into an
outlit alike which
runs to the house through the brick and into a plug in the wall in our den.

Is there something else we should do? The wire just lays on the ground from
point A to B and the tank coil heater plugs directly into the box. But the
wire from the house to the pool outlet that is underground.

Any adjustments we should make please advise.

Thanks,
Denise
