Re: [RC] (off) Saddleseat Bridle for future endurance horse - Kari Hanes

Kristen,
Thanks for the info! I'll have to have hubby look at it tonight and see if that's what he wants to do.

The Pepton mare is doing great! She is so much fun to ride for me and the kids! The Registry has agreed to let us register her with a letter from one of the previous owners, pictures and proper transfer fees. It seems the other owner has really screwed up a lot of horses' papers and the Registry is by-passing him for those owners as well.

Thanks again!

Kari -

Not sure how much you want to spend, but I would try Schneider's: http://sstack.com

Go to Arabian/Gaited Specialties, Saddle Seat Tack, Show Bridles. They have one that looks pretty good for $90 right now in cob size, and also have one for $30 which may work if you don't plan to use it heavily but as you probably know in tack you mostly get what you pay for. Note that they say "To complete your show bridle, purchase browband and caveson set, curb bit, bradoon bit [the snaffle bit] and curb hooks and chain [for the curb bit]." You will probably only find them in a dark brown leather, but can get a black browband/caveson set to go with it.

How is the Pepton mare doing?

Good luck,
Kristen

Subject: [RC] (off) Saddleseat Bridle for future endurance horse

I've been searching for a cob/arab size, pelham, black saddleseat bridle for my daughter's Christmas present. I've been to all the major tack sites and all over ebay with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm no good at figuring this English stuff out! She wants to show her horse saddleseat for a few years before we try endurance with him. I think he should do endurance - he has a standing heart rate of 24!! But to keep the peace - I'm her groom at horse shows and she's my pit crew at rides.
TIA
