Re: [RC] rude rider - Deanna GermanKoylynn, 1.) I'm having trouble understanding why something that didn't happen TO YOU irritates you so. 2.) Other people's actions, reactions and responses can't be controlled. No need to stress over things you can't control. Maybe the other person was trying to make a joke. Things that sound funny rolling around in the head aren't so funny when they come out. Why assume that the other rider was trying to piss on someone's cornflakes? You don't know the other person's reality. You don't know why they felt compelled to make such a remark. Maybe they are desparately unhappy and eternally grumpy. Should they inflict that upon others? No, but see #2. Even if it was clear that pooping in the Easter basket was exactly the intention of the remark, who says that it needs to be received that way? Yeah, there are people who seem to enjoy bitching about everything. You can't control that. What you can control is your actions and reaction, it IS a choice. Getting irritated only hurts one person -- you. If the first action was polite and rudeness was received in return, then shrug your shoulders and move on. No need to retaliate. Somewhere down the line someone WILL respond the way you want. :-)) Take care. Deanna There was an encouter she had that really irritates me. <snip> As they passed my friend said "Isn't it a beautiful day?" and the response by one of the riders was "Yeah, for those of us going slow enough to enjoy it!" =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
