This is true....but again, knowing this ride has a lot of
single track...the LD riders should also understand they
might be sharing trail with faster-moving 50's, and be
prepared to look for places to pull over or be asked to
pass.  

If I was tail end of a group of LD riders...and a 50 came
up behind me....I would immediately tell them that I would pull over
as soon as there was room to do it....I would never expect
a faster moving rider to have to slow to my pace, or even have
to ask to pass.  ....wether on an endurance ride or horse camping trip....

Sounded to me like the 50 mile rider asked in a polite way,
and got a snooty answer.

Boy I dunno.....two key words in your post caught my
eye....SINGLE TRACK. I for one, would rarely ever ask
to pass on a single track. Think about it from those
other riders' perspective - they are just trying to
move on down the trail at THEIR preferred speed, and
your friend may have been the 20th person in the last
half hour to ask them to move off the trail so she
could pass. How fun is that for them? It's all
relative....Kristi
