RE: [RC] affording endurance riding - heidi

I solved that--moved to a place where there is no
access to cable...

Heidi, Not to burst your bubble but Satilite TV is
available EVERY WHERE!

My wife and I laugh all the time when we go camping
and the trailer next to us has a satilite dish set up
and they are watching Sunday Football while enjoyng
the "Wilderness".

Cheers, Pete in TX

PS Hopefully you hubby doesn't read ridecamp or your
ride budget will go down the tubes. ;-)

LOL! My comment was tongue-in-cheek--see the little winky emoticon... :-)

Actually, I had an ex-husband who couldn't seem to find the off button on
the remote. When he moved out, I was so sick of the TV that one of my
very FIRST actions was to cancel the cable subscription! That was nearly
9 years ago, and I have not had TV since! (I was raised without TV,
though, so it is hardly a deprivation...)

You're right--satellite can be had anywhere--fortunately it takes some
effort to get it installed here as well. (I'm REALLY remote!) And I'm
truly blessed--I am now married to a man who does not mind not having TV,
and who works his fingers to the bone with the horses side by side with
me, and who is an extremely talented rider himself and "into" endurance as
well. He is in many ways even more frugal than I am--he makes sure to buy
the cheapest brands of virtually everything, he clips coupons, he reads
the grocery specials--he reminds me of my depression-raised mother
sometimes! He's also a great fix-it guy--which also saves us loads of
money. He's darn sure a lot less expensive to have around than the ex!
