[RC] Skymont - rides2farWhat possessed *any* of you to miss this ride? The weather was *perfect* the trails were great, the scenery was stunning. Management did a *superior* job. Endurance at its best. :-))) Many *too* happy horses bucking on the first really cool morning of the fall. Ed Kidd on Merlin 1st in the 50. Kara Disbrow on Gooby BC (the horse that was lost all day at City Slickers...good that she didn't shoot him that day!) In the 25 I *think Becky Ridley was first (not certain, I was sleepy at the awards) ...Becky Ridley & Toot (18 year old horse) won BC (his 4th BC this year) So...the HW won the 50, and a LW won BC in the 50. Where are our handicappers? >g< And in the "training research" thread...remember the research that said the way to get an advantage is for a HW to train and a LW to compete? Well, I've known Toot for a long time...he was owned by a HW who rode constantly all over the Longstreet trail. He's done CT, marked & cleared trails for everybody, and did some endurance at a fairly moderate pace. After all those years with a HW little bitty Becky Ridley got him and boy has he turned into an up front BC speedster!
