[RC] Blankets (weatherbeeta) - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

(I will be glad when my computer is fixed, and I don't have to post as a
guest...sorry y'all)

I have not tried a Taka blanket. But, have LOVED the Weatherbetta 1200 deiner
blankets that I have bought. (I think they call it the extreme turn out) They
have a mesh lining, and are great for the heavy rain in areas where it is not
cold (like we get in Texas sometimes) You can add a blanket under them if it is
cold out too. The price is excellent, at about $90 from Stateline Tack. They
run big. I bought all of mine in size 69, and that seems to be the best size
for averaging out a fit on all my Arabs. Have had them on tall, longer built,
and short, fat horses.

I would not buy any less than the 1200 deiner if you want waterproof. These
have kept them dry in the worst storms. Used them at both long XP rides in 2001
and 2004. I like the hardware on the Weatherbeeta blankets too. Some of the
knock offs, make you think you are buying a blanket "just like" a weatherbeeta,
but when it gets down to construction and hardware, you will see the
difference. Oh, and if you need a warm blanket, they make them lined too.

I have a blanket that is about 15 - 18 years old. A Weatherbeeta, that is
patched, repaired, and has been used hard, but still is going pretty strong. No
hardware breaks.

That is the end of my sales pitch for the day. I am just very happy with these
turn out sheets, especially for the money!
