Re: [RC] [RC] ? West Region Quicksilver Classic ride on Oct 23 CANCELLED - Agilbxr

We are in Florida. If you shut down stuff due to rain, we'd never do anything.
It rains EVERY day in the rainy season (11.5 months per year). At 4pm here in
Jacksonville. You can set your clock by it. Sometimes it rains for days at a
time. In the non-rainy season, it only rains every 2-3 days.

I have been stuck in my yard in the mud. I've ridden training rides in the
rain, in thunder storms (how fast can you run towards home), and in drizzle.

Whoever called Florida the sunshine state obviously didn't live here.

Actually, a friend from Maryland who does eventing called me this weekend. She
was at the Fairhill horse trials as a jump judge with some friends. At the
time she called, they were having a thunderstorm, and were waiting for it to
stop. She called to ask me if endurance riders will ride through a
thunderstorm cause the hundred milers were still out there. I just laughed and
said "Rachel, they are in the middle of the forest on a horse, where are they
supposed to GO? Of course we keep on riding"

Juli and Alpine (who according to the equine genetics site is a silver
buckskin, not a palomino. That explains the dirt that won't wash off...)
