Re: [RC] [RC] white hairs on sides of wither - Chris Paus

Those white hairs are showing up after much damage
already is done. The saddle probably isn't a great fit
and as the hairs appeared first on the left, either
your or your horse or both are not very balanced. I'm
not talking about riding balanced, I'm talking about
your body alignment...

I have one hip shorter than the other. My horse has a
bigger concentration of white hairs on the right side
than the left because that's where I tend to put my
weight. I go to the chiropractor often to keep myself
as straight as possible. After I've had an adjustment,
my horse is noticeably more relaxed and responsive to
me.

And I take him often for adjustments to the equine
chiro too. My being crooked makes him crooked!

I'd also check that saddle fit. I don't care what they
say about CAIR panels, I've had some horrible results
on my horse's back from them. He'd dance and buck and
rear and do anythign to keep me from tacking him up
and hopping aboard when I had a Wintec with CAIR. He
wasn't so bad with the other Wintecs I've had, but in
general, I've given up on Wintecs for distance riding.
I've tried 4 of them, different styles and models.

Question, my saddle seemed to fit correctly, but now
after 3 months my horse
is getting white hairs (like a big spot) on the left
side below his wither.
It appears to be happening on the right side to
)smaller white patch). My
horse is a chestnut and has white hairs coming in on
his back side
too...just not as concentrated. Wondering if it is
the saddle or pad (Have
the wintec endurance with cair system) the pads
velcro area holding the
loops that keep the saddle on might also be the
culprit..I ordered a Tolket
Woolback with gel inserts for the saddle. Any
comments are gratefully
appreciated..

riding)
