Actually Rule 10.4 says:

10.4 The sponsor must be a competent adult (21 years or older) and must

be duly entered as a competitor in the event and sponsorship must be

documented on the Junior entry form complete with sponsor signature,

at the time sponsorship begins.

Juniors can go on with another sponsor.  Actually, if someone is willing to ride with the junior a non entered person can go on with the junior to the finish line.  Of course the adult gets nothing in the way of points or mileage but the undying gratitude of a kid who gets to finish the ride....mb
