Re: [RC] [RC] GPS units - terry banister

My Garmin Forerunner has a Velcro wristband (which I use to mount onto the pommel because it slides down on my wrist and bothers me) so it does not need to be put in a pocket, but there are times when it
does not stay upright because of the way I mounted it, and then loses signal.
Both the Garmin and the Timex shut themselves off sometimes (weak signal, dead battery, ?) So the "accuracy" boils down to knowing that if it says 20 miles, you have gone AT LEAST that far, but probably more.
Never learned to use the mapping feature of the Garmin. But like the fact that it can be put on a recharger instead of using AA batteries like the Timex. (I still forget to recharge it).
