[RC] fear when mounting/dismounting - Ed Kilpatrick

ok, maybe i missed something here.  what is the fear, that you will get a foot hung in the stirrup and your horse will take off?  some have already stated the potential hazards of "sliding off".   if your horse wont stand still,  that is another issue,  you have to teach them.

here is what i do when i dismount.  slide the left foot back in the stirrup until you just have your toes in and put your weight there.  take the right foot out, swing the right leg over, and when you step down, the left foot slides out of the stirrup very easily.  doesnt matter what kind of stirrup you have, english, ez ride, etc.     ed
